Multiday Mushing Adventures
We have a range of multi-day safaris that will hopefully cater for every taste. Our shortest product involves just one night in a comfortable wilderness cabin and two full days of sledding through the arctic wilderness. Our longest product is a little more remote and requires a more adventurous spirit since the days are long and the conditions encountered can be challenging. In all cases, you will have the chance to get to know your team of dogs well, and will have an unforgettable Arctic experience.
All of our multiday products are based on clients driving solo dog teams. They include an introductory briefing about the dogs and our way of life with them in the Arctic, a morning of preparatory training and coaching in basic mushing techniques (and a 'test' run on our local mushing tracks to build confidence in, and knowledge of, the dogs, for those on our 5-day safaris) and time spent issuing kit and checking the suitability of your personal kit and clothing choices.
NB: Whist it may appear at first glance that we have two five day products of different prices, one (the forests and fells safari) is effectively a full-package based around our 3-day circular tour. The other (the five-day wilderness safari) includes the same number of days of mushing as our 8-day arctic tour but, unlike the arctic tour, doesn’t include full board, accommodation and a free day for arctic adventures on either side of the mushing days.
Hence, if you would prefer to organise your own accommodation, airport transfers and food and simply turn up at our farm on the morning of departure of your tour, opt for the 3-day circular tour or the 5-day wilderness safari. If you would prefer for us to organise everything for you, then opt for the 5-day forests and fells safari or the 8-day arctic mushing tour.
